The Colt and Riss “TwinLand” range of brad point drill bits offer superior quality, yet more economical than the cost of brad point drill bits. Upon closer inspection, these pieces have a small relief milled into the bottom (the flat area between the flutes) to create 4 lands instead of 2. This “TwinLand” design has two advantages. more important than others. The two houses are closely connected by the “TwinLand” pieces that remove the pieces more effectively, preventing the pieces from closing the houses and creating friction that can burn the space. The second advantage is that the two numbers provide additional support to the side of the bit, allowing it to run faster even with the hand. The flutes are machined and the cut directions are diamond ground to be sharp and long. It is ideal for drilling holes in softwood, hardwood, wood, veneers and laminated wood. Bits with a diameter of 3/8″ or less. Fits 3/8″ and larger. The Imperial set includes 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 7/16 and 1/2 inch diameter bits. The set comes with a vinyl sleeve. Colt Tools and Riss Tools, manufacturers of drills and other woodworking tools, are an American company in June and offer many new and unique products.
Products include the MaxiCut Forstner bit, which features an upper cut in the door to pull a bit from the wood and an asymmetrical chip to create a smaller chip, instead of the larger one from traditional Forstner bits. The companies also offer the RotaStop shank system, allowing users to use any piece of playing equipment or a Colt extension and it will be centered and locked without screws or other devices that hold it.
The companies maintain administrative offices in Scottsdale, Arizona, and set up a third warehouse in Columbus, Ohio.
